01-04-13 FRIDAY: BLACK DRUM, SEA TROUT, JACKS AND BLUES
This morning we have overcast skies with patches of fog. Winds are blowing out of the North at 18 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. There's a good chance of rain today, so be sure to go prepared if you head to the inlet. Perhaps the change in weather pattern will get the fish invigorated.
Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach reported another slow morning yesterday, on the north jetty, although it was a little better than Wednesday. A couple of our inlet regulars did well with Black Drum. Mike White of Sebastian hit his limit of 5 and Tony Swiderski of Sebastian landed some nice Drum, one at 26". Small Jacks and Blues were still being landed, but Mike was going for Pompano on the north side but every time he baited up and cast out, crabs kept stealing his bait, they were everywhere!
Our photo is of brothers Lenny (L) and Xavier (R) Santos of Boston, MA. The boys were fishing with their grandfather when Lenny landed this 18" Black Drum off the north jetty on the tide change.
