A change in wind direction this morning which has flattened out conditions for our anglers. Winds are blowing out of the West at 3 mph and there is a light chop on the water. That's good news for our anglers and for the beach that has been eroding with the Northeast winds. 

Yesterday, we saw a decent Black Drum bite in the morning, according to Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach. Mike, Tony Swiderski and Mike White all limited out on Black Drum, but Mike White added a nice 24.5" Red, by free-lining live shrimp. Dead shrimp and clams were the baits of choice for the Black Drum. Diane Buyce of Melbourne landed a slot Pompano, 6 - 8 Whiting came over the rails and one big Jack in the 6 - 8 lb. range was landed as well. 

The afternoon was less exciting, but we saw one big Black Drum and a nice Pompano in coolers in the late afternoon, along with a few Blues that were coming over the rails. Richard Pearce of Sebastian landed a 20" slot Red that he released, along with a good sized Black Drum. Alberto Morales reported that several Black Drum and Pompano were landed from noon - 4:00 p.m. but it wasn't real active.
