12-05-12 WEDNESDAY: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, POMPANO, FLOUNDER, SPANISH MACKEREL, JACKS AND BLUES
We have a lovely morning at the inlet. The wind has subsided a bit. This morning it's blowing out of the North-Northwest at 4 mph and there is a light chop on the water.
The Black Drum bite continues, but it's not as strong as it usually is at this time of year. We are seeing Sheepshead, Blues, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Jacks, Catfish and Pompano come over the rails of the north jetty, catwalks and inside the inlet. We are seeing a few Snook and some big Reds during the evening hours.
Our first photo today is courtesy of Drew Wieland of Orlando. Drew fished the inlet during the incoming tide, just before it switched to outgoing. Using silver spoons, Drew landed this nice array of Spanish Mackerel and Blues.
