Sebastian Inlet Report
12-13-12 THURSDAY: BLACK DRUM, FLOUNDER, SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, POMPANO AND JACKS
An increase and switch in wind direction has put a moderate chop on the water this morning. Winds are blowing out of the North at 20 mph and gusting to 28. There is a small craft advisory in effect through late tonight. Always check the coastal forecast prior to going offshore.
Yesterday there was hardly any wind in the morning hours and Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach reported that the no see 'ems were thick! We don't have that problem today. Not many folks were fishing yesterday morning, only 10 -15 were out, but they had some luck even though it was on the slow side. Mike was on the north jetty from 6:30 - 9:30 a.m. Mike and Tony Swiderski of Sebastian, both landed two Black Drum, one Pompano was caught and one angler landed a slot Snook and two Black Drum while free-lining live shrimp. Black Drum were hitting on sand fleas as well.
Our first photo today features a real nice Doormat that was landed by Ronnie Whitehurst of Melbourne, this beautiful Flounder was weighed at Whitey's Bait and Tackle and came in at 11 3/4 lbs.!
Our second photo features the dynamic duo, Mike Ricciardi and Tony Swiderski with one of their Black Drum catches from yesterday.
