12-11-12 TUESDAY: BLACK DRUM, POMPANO, BLUES, FLOUNDER AND SHEEPSHEAD
It's another beautiful morning at the Inlet! Winds are blowing out of the South-Southwest at 5 mph and the water has a light chop. It would be a great day to get out and wet a line, if you get the opportunity!
The Black Drum bite has been pretty good. Dead shrimp and clams are the baits of choice for that species. We are seeing more Pompano move into the inlet, as well as Sheepshead and Blues. The Flounder bite hasn't gotten real strong yet; we are waiting for the next cold snap to get the serious action started.
A few of our anglers have been having good luck with the flatty's, and in our first photo today, you can see that Rob Moore of Orlando got a nice doormat . The large Flounder was 9 lbs. and the smaller one was 6 lbs. The 9 pounder is the largest one he's landed this season. Friday he landed three more, the largest was 7 lbs. Rob is waiting on the next cold snap, along with the rest of us!
Our second photo features 4 nice Flounder landed by SISP Ranger Ed Perry. Ed landed 2 Southern Flounder and 2 Gulf Flounder, the largest was 6 lbs.
