Sebastian Inle Report
12-03-12 MONDAY: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, POMPANO, FLOUNDER, REDS AND SNOOK
This morning winds are blowing out of the East at 8 mph and the water is choppy.
Over the weekend, fishing wasn't that great but the patient angler saw Black Drum, Sheepshead, Blues, Pompano, Reds, Snook and Flounder come over the rails of the north jetty, off the catwalks and in the inlet. Tommy Turowski of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported that the breezy conditions kept a lot of anglers at home.
Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach fished the inlet Friday morning and reported a decent Black Drum bite. Only one Snook was landed free-lining live shrimp, and he was the lucky angler. Unfortunately, the Snook was just over the 32" limit and was released unharmed. Mike landed two Black Drum that were in the 17" - 18" range. Steve Bozutto of Vero Beach landed a nice, fat Pompano and several Black Drum. The Drum in the photo looks a bit strange. Everyone who saw it agreed that this fish had two different species of parents. The fish looked like a cross between a Black Margate and a Black Drum. Stranger things have happened! Mike reported Whiting, Sheepshead, Jacks, Catfish and Rays were landed Friday as well.
Photo one features Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach with his 32+" C/R Snook.
Photo two is of Steve Bozutto of Vero Beach with a nice Pompano and an odd Black Drum/Margate.
