10-03-12 THURSDAY: REDS, SNOOK, SPANISH MACKEREL, AND ONE FLOUNDER
It's a beautiful morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the East-Southeast at 8 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water.
"Man in the field", Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach sent us an update on yesterday's north jetty activities and reported the finger mullet and greenies had disappeared, along with the Spanish Mackerel. Only three or four Mackerel were landed yesterday morning. Mike got a fast run-out from a big Mack, but he wasn't able to bring it in. One nice Flounder, 24", was landed and several slot Reds were landed on the last of the outgoing tide in the early morning hours. Tony Swiderski of Sebastian landed two of them, keeping a nice 26.5" Red, he was using finger mullet. Four to six Snook were landed in the morning, but all were oversized. Snook seem to be biting best on live shrimp.
