From Henry@ Snook-Nook - Jensen Beach

Fishing in the rain might make a good topic, it has rained every day, a little, a lot depending on your area but the fish do not mind they are all ready wet. At the moment one can not see the end of the dock behind the Snook Nook
but as it came it will leave, just glad I am not out there. So here come more Rain.
Surf continues to be the location, Blues, Mac’s, Jacks, Snook and Tarpon to test your equipment and plenty of Whiting and Croaker to take home. Lots of bait, mullet, pilchards and glass minnows all week and all day has kept the fish
on the move and very active. Matching the profile with a chrome spoon has been the secret, the bite has been all day. Prime time has been at sun up but as I say all day it has been great fishing. Pick and access and look, any birds, fish jumping
any activity if not go to the next access, you will see the fish. The only problem is the Blues and Jacks are faster than the Snook and about the time the Snook pause to look the Blues are all over your bait, then the Tarpon may take your bait, at this point it up to you.
Bigger chrome top water has taken a good catch, problem, do you use a steel leader or stay with the mono? Fish with teeth will grab a lure and another one will grab at any part that is not in the others mouth, so that's the problem. So now you know
where the fish are the rest is up to you, take a few extra spoons with you, they will be needed.
Playing in the Indian River, lots of fish, quality fish and in real good numbers. East side of west follow the bait schools, Trout and Reds top the list but then the Blues and Jacks have tested plenty of equipment. That area just north of
Nettles Island or any of the spoil islands I have had good reports, but a must is the hour, dawn is the time. Two to three feet of water form Boy Scout island to Middle Cove lots of fish. Snook fishing it has been the dark hour, check your tide
chart and plan you trip, moving water is the key and the fish will feed face into the current, slow down give the fish a chance to take that lure.
So what can I say about the lake releases, you now how I feel, it is on our congressman that can make a difference. The one we have will not notice so I hope the people on on the west coast are not hopping for any help. If you
should attend any political functions and a congress want to be is there ask about the lake and what they are going to do to protect us from the drain. The army cor works for congress and if we are to see any help for our water that is where
it will come
