Sebastian Inlet Report

09-05-12 WEDNESDAY: REDS, SNOOK, MANGROVE SNAPPER AND JACKS

It's real nice at the inlet this morning. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southeast at 9 mph and there is a light chop on the water. There are quite a few surfers in the water taking advantage of a small swell, as always; use caution when casting into the surfing area when surfers are present.

We received a couple of updates on yesterday's activities on the north jetty. Our first was from Mike Ricciardi who was out early, but not early enough; the Snook bite went off between 5:30 a.m. - 7:00 a.m. on the outgoing tide. The early birds landed 4 or 5 slot Snook. Mike wasn't there too long; he didn't see any Mutton Snapper or Reds landed. A few Mangrove Snapper in the 10 - 12" range were landed. Photo one is courtesy of Mike, of a crew of regulars all with slot Snook landed early yesterday. From (L-R) are Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach, Diane Buyce of Melbourne and Tony Swiderski of Sebastian. Way to go gang!

Our next update was from Javier Soto of Orlando. Javier fished the night shift last night and said it was great. On the outgoing tide, Reds were everywhere! Javier landed a 27" slot fish; his friend Hector landed a C/R 30"and also a 23" keeper. Jacks were hitting and finger mullet was the bait of choice. Photo two is of Javier with his 27" keeper Red.

Photo three features William Tettiury of Davenport and Chris Gladney of Poinciana on the north jetty . William landed an 18" Mutton Snapper and a 24" slot Red. Chris got a nice 17.5" Mutton Snapper.

Richard Doughman is featured in our last two photos today. Richard was fishing early morning when he landed the 28" C/R Red in photo four and the 18" Mutton Snapper in photo five.
