Sebastian Inlet Report

09-04-12 TUESDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, MUTTON SNAPPER, REDS, SNOOK, JACKS AND BLUES

It's a real pretty morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the south at 5 mph and the water is calm. We had quite a few updates and photos sent in from the weekend and we will be getting to all of those real soon, thanks everybody!

Fishing has really improved since Isaac made his way past us. Friday morning was very good for Mutton Snapper and Redfish. A few Mangrove Snapper were landed and a couple of Jacks, Black Drum and Blues were in the mix, too. Mike Ricciardi was out on the north jetty Saturday morning and spoke with some anglers who had fished the night shift. Only two slot fish were landed overnight and in the early morning hours. The daylight brought more activity; six Snook were landed between 6:00 - 12:30 but only two were in the slot. A nice Flounder was brought over the rails, a good number of Mangrove Snapper were caught but a lot of them were short. Mike didn't see any Redfish and only two Mutton Snapper that were too short and returned. Please abide by the bag limits and size restrictions. If you are unsure, there is an FWC regulations chart on the top right corner of this page that you can print out and take with you. You can also look at fishing etiquette, catch and release info and boating safety.

Our first photo today is of "Big Dave" Hartwell of Sebastian with two beautiful Mutton Snapper he landed using mojarra.

Our second photo features David Vincent of Palm Bay with two Pompano he landed using clams.
