Alright boys and girls, here we go again. This weekend I avoided fishing Sebastian inlet due to heavy crowds but I 've been told that the snook and redfish action remained consistant with anglers finding the most success usig both mojarra's and mullet which remain abundant and easy to net. I opted to stay inside and fish along the west shore. The yacht club dock behind Native tackle produced black drum, trout and many mangrove snapper along with a few medium sized jacks. For anyone fishing this unpressured dock, I recommend live shrimp fished on either a quarter ounce jighead with a light wire hook or simply freelined with or without the addition of a small split shot. Once tthe sun went down I moved over to one of my favorite honey holes, River View park, which is within sight of Native Tackle as well. River View has produced some slot red's and trout in the past couple of days for folks using hand picked shrimp and small pinfish fished on bottom between the two large piers there. While the redfish escaped me this weekend the trout were cooperative if not a little on the small side. The gators are out there but the hot water means hooking up entails putting your time in and covering ground. Live shrimp freelined under the piers here is your best bet right now. Photo's one and two are of a couple of drum I caught at the yacht club dock while photo three is a twenty four inch trout from River View I caught last week and the last photo is of a keeper red caught the same day.
