From Big Dave -Sebastian

OFA would like to introduce and thank a Good Friend
"Dave Hartwell". I fished with Big Dave down at Juno Pier where he always caught fish, he has now moved up to Sebastian where he is kill them and has made a name for himself already. Dave will be adding his report to onfootangler from the Sebastian area.

Monday night, proved to be yet another outstanding night of fishing on the north jetty. The holiday crowd was there until about ten o clock making things a bit difficult at first but once there was enough elbow room the fishing came easy. Mojarra were abundant in the lagoon and finger mullet were thick along the beachside of the north jetty making catching enough bait for the evening an easy task with just one or two throws of the net. Multiple spot redfish came over the rails as did several keeper snook and a handful of mangrove snapper. The black water coming out of the river on the outgoing seems to really heat up the fishing as soon as it rounds the ends of the jetties. Live shrimp produced good results as well for those who chose to drift their bait out on a lighter rig. The key to success this night was using either a fish finder rig with one half to one ounce of lead or a simple split shot and 2/0 hook tied on thirty to fourty pound flourocarbon leader. The snook definitely seemed to prefer live shrimp while the reds were keyed in on finger mullet. No doubt the bright moon was a strong influence on the fishing. I will be fishing wednesday night and friday morning so keep an eye out for more reports.
