08-02-12 THURSDAY: THE WATER IS COLD, BUT C/R SNOOK ARE ACTIVE
It's a beautiful morning at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Northeast at 4 mph and the water is calm, clean and COLD. The water temperature is in the mid 60's this morning.
We received an update from inlet regular Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who fished the north jetty yesterday morning and reported hundreds of Snook schooling around the jetty that were visible as the water has cleaned up. 4 or 5 C/R Snook came over the rails on live shrimp and another half dozen were lost after hook up. Mike reported one oversized Red that was landed and released, using shrimp. There was a lot of bait in the water, but no Mackerel. Tommy Turowski of the Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop scuba dived yesterday and said there were Mangrove Snapper galore, but only few where caught yesterday morning! Could it be the cold water that is keeping the fish from biting?
Our first photo is of Mike Misserville of Sebastian with a real nice C/R Snook he landed using shrimp.
Photo two features Tony Swiderski of Sebastian with a beautiful C/R Snook he landed using shrimp.
