Sebastian Inlet Report

08-13-12 FISHING REMAINS SLOW........

This morning winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 2 mph and the water is calm, with a light ripple on the surface. The water temperature has been up and down, but even on the up days, it's still cooler than usual. You need your insect repellent if you head to the inlet today, the no see 'ums are out!

Over the weekend we didn't see a lot of people out on the jetties, particularly Sunday when it rained nearly all day. Tommy Turowski at the Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported that after the rains on Sunday, a lot of Snook were visible and there was a lot of bait in the water. Bonito were biting and Tommy landed a 10 pounder on his first cast. Inlet regular Wayne Landry landed a big Permit on Sunday, a few Spanish Mackerel were visible as well and there's been some Mangrove Snapper action on the flats.

Our angler of the day is 11 year old Tyler Matik of Windermere. Tyler and his Dad were fishing the north jetty when Tyler landed the Lookdown in our photo today.
