Sebastian Inlet Report

07-18-12 WEDNESDAY: BONITA SCHOOLING AROUND THE NORTH JETTY THIS MORNING

It's a stunning morning at the inlet; blue skies, calm water and plenty of sunshine. We have rain in the forecast today but we probably won't see those showers until later this afternoon. Fishing has been hit or miss.

We received an update from inlet regular Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach who was out on the north jetty as an observer yesterday, he didn't fish but sent us an update. Mike reported a slow morning after the early morning Snook bite. C/R Snook were landed by Dave Lectric and Tony Swiderski of Sebastian. A few Mangrove Snapper came over the rails while he was on the north jetty, but overall, it was slow.

Tommy Turowski of the Bait and Tackle Shop reported Bonita schooling around the north jetty this morning and big Reds on the outgoing tide.

Photo one is of "Big Dave" Hartwell of Sebastian with two 10 lb Bonita he landed on plugs. Dave has been a Juno Beach Regular, living down this way. He started going up to Sebastian and now I think he has moved up that way... You got to go where the Fish Are.

Photo two features Josh Sullivan of Palm Beach with one of the 4 or 5 C/R Reds landed.

Photo three is of Larry Robison of West Melbourne with a big Jack he landed on pinfish.
