07-09-12 MONDAY: MANGROVE SNAPPER, PERMIT, SNOOK, REDS, SPANISH MACKEREL AND FLOUNDER
This morning winds are barely blowing out of the Southwest and the water is calm. These are perfect conditions for no see 'ums, be sure to take insect repellent if you head to the inlet.
Some nice oversized C/R Reds were landed and a few Spanish Mackerel moved in for a short period of time. Anglers were nailing C/R Snook on using live shrimp, Mangrove Snapper were in play and few nice Flounder are still being caught as well. Big Permit have been making appearances, but please know the bag limits and size restrictions. A couple of people received citations for keeping more than one over the weekend, according to Tommy Turowski of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Regulations are one per person per day, 11" - 22".
Our photo today is courtesy of Earl Truman of Vero with a beautiful Permit he landed on the outgoing tide. Earl has landed several Permit this season, but this was his "trophy" so far.
