06-29-12 FRIDAY: THE BITE IS SLOW....
It's a warm, gorgeous day at the inlet today. If the fish were cooperating, it would be perfect. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southeast at 7 mph and the water is pretty calm. The outgoing tide was dirty from all the run-off from the rain, but probably will clean up on the incoming. Not much was biting this morning, a few small Sheepshead, some decent sized Spottail Pinfish, some Catfish and a couple of Whiting was all that came over the rails, according to Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach.
The highlight of the morning yesterday, was Tony Swiderski of Sebastian's two Black Drum he landed on the outgoing tide using dead shrimp. One was 17" and one was 18.5". We haven't seen Black Drum in a while.
