SEBASTIAN INLET REPORT

06-12-12 TUESDAY: SPANISH MACKEREL AND MANGROVE SNAPPER

It's another beautiful morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Southeast at 8 mph and there is a light chop on the water.

We received an update from Diane Buyce of Melbourne who was on the north jetty yesterday. She didn't arrive until 10:00 a.m. and stayed until 1:30. Diane reported a lot of baitfish in the water, but they weren't easy to catch as they were small and slid through the nets. Diane was targeting Mackerel and five or six were landed before she got there. Diane had three on the line, two broke off and the one she landed was 27". Four or five mangrove Snapper were landed during Diane's time on the jetty.
