05-29-12 TUESDAY: FISHING IS ON THE SLOW SIDE
It's another lovely morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southwest at 10 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water.
There was a lot of activity at the inlet this past weekend but unfortunately fishing was on the slow side. We had a smattering of fish in good variety but nothing was really running. A few Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Pompano, Mangrove Snapper, Blues, Sea Trout, Jacks and Flounder were landed but none in large numbers. Sharks have been pretty active and a few brave souls got out and tangled with them and a few unsuspecting anglers had their catches stolen.
Our photo today features Steve Kalemba, manager of Black Dog Bait & Tackle in Melbourne Beach. Steve took a day off to fish the north jetty and landed a couple of Sheepshead using live shrimp. sing shrimp.
