It's another beautiful morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Northwest at 5 mph and there is a light chop on the water.
Fishing has picked up some; there was a lot more activity than in the past few weeks. There were a lot of small greenies schooling around the north jetty and they were attracting Spanish Mackerel. Quite a few good sized Macks were landed for those lucky enough to have greenies for bait. Diane Buyce of Melbourne landed eight nice fish before noon, and another trio of anglers were pulling them in one after another. We also saw some small to medium sized Atlantic Spadefish, a few Sheepshead, small to medium sized Spots, and a Margate . Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach was on the north jetty in the early morning hours and also reported a Snook bite, before 6:30 a.m., which produced two oversized fish and several cut-offs. Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach landed one that was 37" which was returned to the water.
Speaking of oversized Snook, Mike Misserville of Sebastian landed the beautiful Snook in our first photo today off the north jetty on Sunday around 9:30 a.m. This beautiful Snook was 42.5" long and was returned to the water right after the photo.
