What a beautiful morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 5 mph and the water is clean and calm.
We received an update from Mike Ricciardi that he missed his Permit...again! He had a real nice one on the line and got it all the way to the north jetty with a net ready. A crowd had gathered as it usually does when an angler has something big on the hook and the big guy wrapped himself around the piling and broke off. That's twice in one week for Mike; he is overdue for a Permit! Mike reported that this morning there is a lot of bait in the water and Spanish Mackerel are out there chasing them, but they aren't biting well. Two oversized Snook were landed this morning at 5:00 and 7:00 a.m., Tony Swiderski landed a 3.5 lb Margate and Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach landed one Mack.
Over the weekend we had quite a few Blues, a few Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, big Jacks, Snook, Reds and a couple of Cobia landed off the north jetty, which is quite a treat!! One was undersized and returned and one was a real beauty.
