04-12-12 THURSDAY: BLUES, BLUES AND MORE BLUES!
Winds have increased significantly over the past couple of hours this morning. At 9:30 a.m. winds are blowing out of the North-Northeast at 20 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. Yesterday was another slow day at the inlet. Spot Porgy's were the main attraction off the north jetty again. One of the SISP volunteers reported that around 2:30 a school of very big Jacks came through and were tearing through a school of mullet so hard, the mullet were jumping up on the rocks to escape! That must have been a fun sight!
Walton Ray of the Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop said this morning it's Blues, Blues and more Blues! Anglers are landing them whether they want them or not on just about every cast. That's a big improvement from the past few days!
Our photo features Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach with a couple of decent sized Whiting he landed off the north jetty.
