Please use caution when navigating the inlet. We are dredging the sand trap west of the bridge.
What a beautiful morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West at 4 mph and the water is calm. There is a nice swell building for you surfers out there. Anglers, please use caution when casting off the north side of the north jetty when surfers are present.
Over the weekend we saw smattering of everything come over the rails of the north jetty according to Tommy Turowski of the Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. The most dominant species were Bluefish and we are starting to see a lot of mullet in the water as well.
We received a report from Skip Stowers of Kissimmee who fished the inlet Monday night with his son Sean and friend Pat Curry of Apopka. Skip said the inlet was on fire that night! They landed something with every single drift from 7:30 p.m. - midnight, there were all kinds of species running through the inlet. The trio landed several Jacks that were in the 20 - 25 lb range, Reds were out in force and they landed three that were over 30 lbs and one that tipped the scales at 47" and 42 lbs!!
