03-08-12 THURSDAY: SHEEPSHEAD, SHARKS, BLUES, JACKS AND A FEW SMALL JACKS
We have another day of mixed sun and clouds at the inlet. The weather has been pretty blown out the past few days, high winds and waves crashing over the jetties have kept a lot of folks at home or fishing in more sheltered areas. This morning winds are blowing out of the Southeast at 12 mph and the water is choppy. There is a small craft advisory through this evening; boaters should exercise caution.
We received an update from Benjie who was out on the north jetty, braving the elements reported that even 25 mph winds didn't faze the avid fishermen on the north jetty who were determined to land a fish for dinner. A few anglers got lucky with some Blues, a couple of Black Drum, a Sheepshead and a few small Jacks. White caps pounded the north jetty and the die-hard anglers just kept fishing.
Walton at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported a lot of Sheepshead bit yesterday and Sharks were thick.
