03-01-12 THURSDAY: SHEEPSHEAD, POMPANO, BLACK DRUM, A FEW SNOOK AND FLOUNDER
We have another beautiful "winter" day at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Southeast at 5 mph. Fishing has been sporadic this week with the dominant catch being Sheepshead. We've seen some nice Black Drum but they've been low in numbers as have Flounder and Pompano. The Snook have been few and far between over the past few days. Water temperatures remain in the 70's, which is warm for this time of year but we actually had Blues finally show up yesterday on the outgoing tide!
Our first photo today features inlet regular Spiro who was the lucky angler who limited out on some good sized Pompano using clams to catch those beauties!
Rick is featured in our second photo a regulars on the north jetty he landed a real nice sized Sheepshead and a Flounder using shrimp.
Photo three features Lee with a nice Sheepshead and a Spot he landed off the north jetty.
Photo four features T.C. on the right and "Big Daddy" on the left, they probably had the best luck of anyone. The duo landed a cooler full of Sheepshead and a couple of nice sized Black Drum using sand fleas.
