From Capt. Henry @ SNOOK-NOOK Jensen Beach
If you want to make a surf angler smile just say the wind is from the west and watch that smile. Pompano and more Pompano from Ft.Pierce to Jupiter lots of happy
anglers, limit catch's were reported all day, fish 13”minimum and the max was over the top with a Permit mixed in to keep the smiles going. Favored baits were shrimp, clams and sand fleas, clams toped the list and not to many sharks were reported. Best times were when you got there, distance to cast, where ever you could but the best was up close, lots of Pompano. Yes there was some Blues but Pompano was the target, this run has been the one anglers have been looking for and there was no disappointment. Snook, Whiting and Croaker were on the edge but it was Pompano that took the show, not sure big whiting, Pompano?
River anglers take your pick east side or west we have fish, lots of fish. Reds were thick on the west side (Walton rd.) with a mix of Trout and the east side it was Trout with a few Reds. Soft rubber baits were preferred, suspending baits for the Reds a bait they can get on top of was the secret. To many Snook, if you are looking for a keeper try the causeways, all monsters at the Roosevelt. East end of the Stuart bridges has been a great location, low light is the key no matter the area, Flair Hawks is the Bait. Yes, Pompano have been skipping from north to south just have no idea what to feed them but one thing for sure there is plenty. Jacks, Blues, Mac’s and Lady fish continue to keep anglers busy so no matter your method there is plenty to bend a rod........come on down...................................HENRY
