From Billy Bones Bait & Tackle-Stuart / Port St. Lucie

There seems to be a lot of Ribbon Fish in the river this year I have been told its a sign of cleaning water . I am hearing of a good Snook bite at the Causeways and at Ft Pierce's south bridge on Jig n Shrimp and the real Snookers are using Flair Hawks and First Light jigs we have had ordered for over 3 weeks  I guess they are backed up but the GOOD NEWS is We are Getting more right now as I type !!!
The  fishing in the river has been a lot better considering the spring mullet run has started early . Try top water lures  early or late in the day. The Rapala X walks have been catching a good mess of the snook, redfish and trout being caught .. Here they are in case you don"t know I caught the 48 inch Snook in the picture in the North Store on a Sub Walk ..
There also has been a large amount of Trout caught when the sun comes up on the Bass Assassins swim baits and Doa Cal Tails . Try Shrimp and a Popping Cork for awesome results when its slow its always good to switch to Bait because most of the time it will put a bend in your rod. Hey I hear there are more Pompano  out there biting now on the Docs Goofy Jigs . Its still slow just a poor Pompano year for us. Vic Rivera pulled it off I think with Rodney's  topwater hand made," Tater Bug" Yes , Vic caught a Pompano almost 18 inchs, ON A TOP WATER LURE !!!
