03-28-12 WEDNESDAY: SNOOK, FLOUNDER, LADYFISH, JACKS, POMPANO AND SEA TROUT

This morning winds are blowing out of the Southeast at 10 mph and gusting to 15. There is a small craft advisory in effect for seas.

Mike of Vero Beach was back out on the north jetty  and reported plenty of Ladyfish and Jacks in the early morning hours from 6:00 - 9:00, but no Snook. Several nice Pompano were landed during that time frame along with 5 - 6 large Flounder that were taking finger mullet. About 10:00, the Snook started biting but only one was a slot fish and the rest were oversized and returned. A couple of the Snook were landed on pinfish, which is a switch from the live shrimp they've been taking.

Our first photo today features Dario Torres of Bay Village, OH, he has been trying to learn as much about saltwater fishing as possible and by the looks of this Trout; it looks like he has it wired. The Sea Trout in photo one was landed off the north catwalk on a bomber plug and weighed six pounds! Dario also landed a slot Snook that evening.
Our second photo today is of  Steve Cochrane of Mt. Dora. Steve landed the C/R 34.5" Snook off the south jetty using a bucktail. The Snook was released right after the photo.
Photo three features  Jordan Acosta and Noel Batista. The duo fished all night and were rewarded with two nice Trout, a Black Drum and a slot Snook.
