03-09-12 FRIDAY: SNOOK, SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, POMPANO, SPANISH MACKEREL, BLACK DRUM, FLOUNDER, SEA TROUT AND REDS
We have a mix of sun and clouds at the inlet this morning. Winds are blowing out of the South at 7 mph and the water has a moderate chop, it's a pretty morning at the inlet. A small craft advisory near inlets is in effect. Be sure to keep an eye on the coastal forecast if you plan to go offshore this weekend, we are probably going to see some rough seas.
Yesterday was another rough day at the inlet but there are fish out there for those who have braved the elements. Snook are back this morning, but who knows for how long? Sheepshead have been ample, Pompano, Spanish Mackerel and Blues are starting to show, Flounder are being landed on the south side, Sea Trout are on the flats and we've seen a few Black Drum and Reds.
Our photo today is of Carolyn, with a real nice Flounder she landed on the south side of the inlet using finger mullet.
There also have been reports of quite a few Whiting caught using shrimp and strips of Ladyfish. Michael reported that between a few of them, they landed 30 - 40 Whiting and several other species in a 2 hour time span.
