02-03-12 FRIDAY: SNOOK, SHEEPSHEAD, BLACK DRUM AND FLOUNDER
This morning winds are blowing out of the Southeast at 12 mph and the water is choppy. We have a mix of sun and clouds and potential rain forecasted for today, so dress accordingly if you head to the inlet. There is a small craft advisory in effect from 1:00 p.m. today through late tonight. Always check the coastal forecast prior to going offshore.
The bite has picked up at the inlet, it's not great, but it is improving. The opening of Snook season must have been what the fish were waiting for. We've seen some slot sized Snook hitting live shrimp, over and under sized as well. A few Black Drum and Sheepshead, Flounder on the south side and even a keeper Red landed Wednesday. We have a pretty nice weekend ahead of us, it would be a great time to get out and do a little fishing!
Our first photo today features 12 year old Shane and 10 year old Riley with a couple of real nice Sheepshead they landed using live shrimp.
The other photo is of Spiro who landed this beautiful 27" slot Red off the north jetty.
