01-09-12 MONDAY: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, POMPANO, SEA TROUT, REDS AND TARPON It's a real nice morning at the inlet. We will see a mix of sun and clouds over the inlet all day but we have very little chance of rain forecasted. Winds are calm, blowing out of the West-Northwest at 2 mph and the water is calm as well. Over the weekend fishing was pretty good on Saturday according to Tommy at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Tommy reported a smattering of everything being landed including Pompano, Sheepshead, Black Drum, smallish Flounder, big Reds; one that was in the 50 lb range, and Sea Trout moved in as well. Evenings brought us big Reds and Tarpon but Sunday during the day, the bite slowed quite a bit. Our first photo today features Jim who was fishing with his dad when he landed this beautiful 28 lb C/R Red off the north jetty using live shrimp. Jim released the Red unharmed right after the photo. Our second photo is of Rick with a real nice Black Drum he landed on Tuesday. Rick also landed a 25 lb C/R Red. |
