Sebastian Inlet Report

01-03-12 TUESDAY: SHEEPSHEAD, BLACK DRUM, FLOUNDER, POMPANO AND REDS

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We had a beautiful long weekend, hope you got out and enjoyed it because today is a different story altogether. There's not many people on the north jetty this morning, temperatures are in the low 40's and it's not supposed to rise much today. We are expecting a very cold night tonight so if you plan on heading to the inlet, keep that in mind. Winds are blowing out of the North-Northwest at 17 mph and gusting to 25 this morning. There is a gale warning in effect until 1:00 p.m. this afternoon and a small craft advisory in effect this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Boaters should exercise caution.

We received a few updates from some of you that made it out over the weekend and your input is appreciated! Father and daughter duo Michael and 7 year old Brooke  spent some quality time together at the inlet on Friday. Brooke is a natural born angler as she landed all the fish in our first three photos today! Brooke loves catching them, but is not too fond of holding them. Our first photo is of Brooke with a nice sized Sheepshead she landed using clam.
Brooke's Dad gave her a hand and held her next catch for her while she took the photo, another C/R Red landed on live shrimp. Michael reported they spotted a Bobcat on the way into the Park but they weren't able to get a photo, they LOVE the inlet!!
