From Capt. Joe Ward @ The Bait Shack Ft Pierce

The inshore fishing has been good over the last couple of weeks.  There are tons of spanish mackerel, bluefish and jacks in and around the Ft. Pierce Inlet and in the Turning Basin.  They will hit on anything shinny.  The sheepshead and black drum bite remains good when fishing with live shrimp and around structure.  There has been a fairly good flounder bite at the Ft. Pierce Jetty when fishing a live shrimp on the bottom.  A few report of pompano in the surf down around Normandy Beach with a clam or a sand flea being the baits of choice.  The snapper bite along the channel edges has slowed a little but if you can find them they will take a live shrimp.  The redfish bite has been good around the Queen's Cove area but the fish are being picky and not feeding as much as usual.  The catch and release snook action has been goon in the Ft. Pierce Inlet when fishing a live bait on the bottom.  The trout bite has been good to the north in the river with most of the trout being on the small side.
