12-07-11 WEDNESDAY: BLUES, BLACK DRUM, FLOUNDER, SHEEPSHEAD AND REDS
We have a mix of sun and clouds over the inlet this morning but it is a beautiful day. Winds are blowing out of the West-Northwest at 4 mph and the water is calm. We will have a small craft advisory in effect this evening through Thursday afternoon. There are a few surfers in the water taking advantage of a small swell this morning, please use caution when casting off the north side of the north jetty.
Blues were hitting cut mullet yesterday; we saw Black Drum and a few Sheepshead come over the rails and a couple of small Pompano. Small to mid-sized Flounder were landed from the rocks. We received an update from the north jetty that a lot of big Reds came over the rails on the outgoing tide that kept anglers busy but not many Black Drum were landed.
