Sebastian Inlet Report

Black Drum at the cleaning table landed by Mike

12-06-11 TUESDAY: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, FLOUNDER AND A FEW POMPANO

The wind has calmed down this morning; it's blowing out of the South-Southeast at 7 mph. There is a light chop on the water and small craft should exercise caution.

The Black Drum bite continues but not as strong as it was last week. Anglers are huddled out on the end of the north jetty this morning vying for a spot. Dead shrimp have been working best but anglers have landed some good sized Drum on live shrimp and clams as well. The Sheepshead bite is picking up and Blues are starting to appear. Small to medium sized Flounder and small Pompano are in the mix.

Reports of anglers fishing the south side on Sunday morning's outgoing tide and landed 10 Flounder on mud minnows. Most were small and released but they managed to get two in the 3 - 4 lb range for the dinner table. One angler reported a lot of other anglers landing and releasing small Flounder but saw about a half dozen in the 4 - 7 lb range.
