12-05-11 MONDAY: SHEEPSHEAD, FLOUNDER, BLACK DRUM, REDS, SNOOK AND TARPON Anglers had to deal with high winds over the weekend and things haven't improved much; it's still blowing out of the Southeast at 15 mph and the water is choppy. There is a small craft advisory in effect. Over the weekend some nice Black Drum came over the rails but not in the numbers we've been seeing in the past few weeks. Quite a few Flounder and Sheepshead were landed and Blues have started to show in small numbers. The Snook and Tarpon bite was good at night. Our photo today is of Nam with an undersized Snook he caught and released off the north jetty. Nam is a big user of artificials and this was his first Snook landed on live bait. Another angler was leaving the jetty and gave Nam his last dead shrimp which he used to land this Snook. One man's trash is another man's treasure! |
