Sebastian Inlet Report

12-01-11 THURSDAY: BLACK DRUM AND SHEEPSHEAD

It's a chilly morning on the north jetty. We started off in the 40's early this morning but the temperature is rising and we should see the low 70's by the afternoon. It looks like we have another beautiful day ahead. Winds are blowing out of the North-Northwest at 10 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. Small craft should exercise caution.

Yesterday morning it was all about the Black Drum bite. Black Drum were thick in the morning and early afternoon hours; they were coming over the rails one after another. Some anglers that arrived early limited out and were off the jetty by 9:00 a.m.! Dead shrimp and clams were the baits of choice. Several very nice Sheepshead were landed as well. A couple of straggler Catfish and more Drum, Drum, Drum!! A lot of boats were lined up outside the inlet channel looking for Flounder but we have no reports on the activity.
