Guess it's time to break out the warm clothes and get ready to bundle up for a few days of winter weather. Look for weekly cold fronts to invade the area and find a few of them to bring cold conditions to the Treasure Coast. It will continue to be windy most days, but utilize the area to find good spots out of the worst of the breezes. Fishing can still be very good out there if you plan your day and dress in layers to combat the cold mornings. 

We have had some very good adventures lately out there on the Indian River. A variety of fish have been cooperative to the anglers for us. Redfish, snook and trout along with sheephead, black drum and a host of other species have kept the anglers busy this week on the water. Moving to deeper water has been more productive as the temperatures continue to drop on the river. Lately you can expect the water to be in the 67 - 70 degree range, but it will continue to drop each week. Deeper water can help find more fish and better action.

Fishing channel edges, drop offs and around the inlets will give you more opportunity at finding fish. Some of the spots we have fished this week have held a large variety of fish. Many that you normally find in the shallow waters. A DOA Terror Eyz or live bait can keep you busy around the river. Look for redfish to move up shallow as the sun warms up the water. We found a number of them hanging around the mangroves in the middle of the day. A DOA shrimp can entice on into biting on the flats.

Bridges are holding lots of fish of many species. We should see an influx of bluefish soon, but you can find plenty of action around the inlets. Snook fishing has been good at night around the jetties. It might get cold at night, but the fish will still be out there feeding. Dress warm and have some fun out there.
